SUMMARY:American Red Cross Blood Drive
DESCRIPTION:On January 21\, we will be hosting an American Red Cross blood drive from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM! This event will take place in our downstairs conference room. \nThe American Red Cross continues to experience an emergency blood and platelet shortage\, caused by both tremendously low donor turnout and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Roll up your sleeves and donate to help save a life! \nEach Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows the highest standards of safety and infection control\, and additional precautions — including social distancing and face coverings for donors and staff — have been implemented to ensure the health of all those in attendance. \n— \nHOW TO DONATE BLOOD \nA blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required to check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law)\, weigh at least 110lbs and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements. \nBlood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online\, on the day of their donation\, before arriving at the blood drive. To get started\, follow the instructions at https://rcblood.org/3lR6aDe or use the Blood Donor App\, available on the App Store and Google Play. \n— \nABOUT THE AMERICAN RED CROSS: \nThe American Red Cross shelters\, feeds and provides comfort to victims of disasters; supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; distributes international humanitarian aid; and supports veterans\, military members and their families. The Red Cross is a nonprofit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to deliver its mission. For more information\, please visit https://www.redcross.org/ or https://www.redcross.org/cruz-roja.html or follow @RedCross on Twitter.
